How my One Dollar Ultra ended

How my One Dollar Ultra ended while attempting lap 33 after officially completing 133.4 miles through 32 laps in 32 hours.

I've got so many things to say about this incredible event and all the amazing people I met this weekend, but first I wanted to show you my attempt at lap 33 that ended after 2 blocks, because this is what the Backyard Ultra was all about for me.

I kept trying to run. Over and over. Some part of me knew it was over but I couldn't say I was stopping. I couldn't DECIDE to quit.

So I tried one last time. Then suddenly blackness. Before I knew what was happening my wife Nikki was catching me from passing out in the middle of an intersection. I couldn't see, I could barely breathe.

If I couldn't win, this is how it had to end for me to be satisfied. I was never going to quit in the chair, as badly as I wanted to. I had to keep going until it wasn't a decision. This was everything I had, and more.

Thank you @nsalenetri for getting those last laps out of me that I thought were impossible. Thank you @nyctrail.run for coming back and crewing for me once the police opened up our street again. And thank you @cjsg108 for keeping me from getting lost in those opening miles and coming back over a day later to keep me moving in that final 32nd lap.

And of course, thank you to the One Dollar Ultra champion and new course record holder @vkennedy18 for the epic battle and being such a monster to push me there! Finally, thank you to the amazing OneDollarUltra crew, @austinoffthegrid and @vic_zee, for putting on such a wild event and allowing me to find this limit.
