Finally! 13 years after my first triathlon right here in Medford Lakes where Nikki and I both won AG awards (don't ask Nikki who was faster.. irrelevant), we both won overall at the same race! I've been feeling pretty rough since last week's disappointment, but I figured it couldn't go much worse, so why not just jump right back into it!
Finally a decent swim for me, 10th out of the water, then the best bike/run combo of the day to take the top spot vs some fast competition. A bit more exciting for Nikki, making the pass into 1st with the finish turn in sight to take it by 10 seconds after a 6:13 closing mile!
Love that the combo win was back where it all began for me. Still one of my favorite races every year. Always a great vibe and a great race/volunteer crew with @dqevents!
