I won a marathon! It took almost a 3 minute PR with a 2:33:32 and it was a BATTLE. Shoulder to shoulder with a great runner until mile 21, I hope there are some good pics.
My quads were starting to go but I thought "he's 27 and will have more shots to win one than me (at 41).. so time to suffer."
And I did. He kept me looking over my shoulder the whole way though. Got away by about 40 seconds by the end but I never thought I had it until I ran by my cheering crew in the finish chute.
I can't say enough about the @jimthorperun crew. THE BEST! And all the volunteers were equally the best. It was a great weekend of cheering and running for everybody involved.
